What QuickLift Treats

QuickLift improves the appearance of the mid to lower face, as well as the upper neck. It is great for people with mild to moderate skin laxity in the lower cheeks, along the jawline and underneath the chin. Please note: QuickLift will not affect the eye area. Dr. DeMars will likely recommend an eyelid lift or forehead lift for people with aged, angry or tired-looking eyes.

The QuickLift Procedure

The QuickLift is usually performed under a light general anesthesia with a Board Certified Anesthesiologist in attendance for your comfort and safety. The procedure usually takes about two hours to complete. It involves the following steps:


  1. Dr. DeMars makes a small “S” shaped incision along the sideburn, extending along the tragus of the ear, around the earlobe and up to the hairline toward the nape of the neck.
  2. He lifts and tightens the underlying connective tissue and facial muscles.
  3. He removes any excess skin.
  4. He closes the incisions with sutures.
  5. If the upper neck needs further attention, Dr. DeMars will perform a submental tuck or liposuction of the neck and jowl area.

Recovering from QuickLift

Recovery time will vary by patient; in many cases, downtime is significantly shorter than that of conventional facelift surgery. Some QuickLift patients return to work several days after their procedure. For example, they schedule their QuickLift for a Friday and are able to return to work on Monday or Tuesday.

After their procedure, QuickLift patients should sleep with their head elevated for the first week to minimize swelling. Dr. DeMars recommends also using cold compresses for the first 24 hours to cut down on swelling. Any discomfort can be treated with prescription pain medication, or even over-the-counter Tylenol. Makeup can camouflage temporary bruising when it is time to return to work or go out in public.

As with any cosmetic surgery, there are risks to take into consideration. QuickLift risks include bleeding, excessive post-operative swelling and noticeable scarring.
