blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty

The eyes are our most intriguing and revealing facial feature - they draw attention and convey expression. Through them, we not only see others but others see us as well. Our interest and how we feel physically or emotionally is reflected in our eyes.  Unfortunately hereditary factors and the signs of aging can greatly impact the appearance of our eyes, so that what they reflect is not really how we feel.

If you are bothered by upper eyelids with excess, drooping skin that makes you appear sad or angry, or by eyes that look tired due to puffiness or bags, cosmetic eyelid surgery may be right for you. In general, eyelid surgery corrects the excess skin, tissue and fat that contribute to puffiness and bags in both the upper and lower eyelids, revealing a more youthful and energetic appearance.

forehead lift

Forehead Lift

On days when you are feeling well rested and content, does your facial expression tell a different story?  Often, the forehead is the main culprit. A lined or furrowed brow can make a serene face appear upset or concerned. Frown lines between the eyebrows can produce an angry look.  A drooping brow can create a perpetually tired or sad look.

If you believe that your forehead is preventing you from looking as good as you feel, a forehead lift, also called a brow lift, may be a good option for you.  A forehead lift corrects the sagging or low position of the eyebrows, softens horizontal creases across the forehead and erases the worried or angry expression that can result from frown lines. The outcome is a more relaxed and refreshed appearance.

facelift

Facelift

Our face is our most visible feature, one that through expression and
appearance conveys what and how we feel. Facial aging includes a loss of skin elasticity and firmness, sagging tissue and wrinkles.  These visible signs of aging can greatly impact how we feel about ourselves and how others see us.

Even a person who is energetic and excited about life can appear tired or sad due to aging in the midface, jaw line and neck. The loss of youthful contours in these areas is due to a variety of factors including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions and stress.

If you are bothered by the signs of aging in your face, a facelift may be right for you. In general, a facelift corrects sagging facial skin and muscles, removes excess fat and restores firmness to create a more youthful, rested and vibrant appearance.

cheek lift

What is an ENDOTINE Cheek Lift?

The area between your lower eyelids and your mouth is considered the midface. As you age, the effects of gravity,  repeated muscle contraction, and lifestyle cause the skin, fat, and muscle in this region to move downwards. When this occurs, the cheeks begin to look saggy or flat, lower eyelids can become puffy or hollow, circles begin to appear under the eyes, and the lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth deepen.

The ENDOTINE cheek lift restores the natural curves and fullness in the cheeks by moving soft tissues back to where they were earlier.  This is achieved by elevating the soft midface tissue from the bone, repositioning it upward towards the eyes, and fixating it in place until it re-adheres naturally to the bone. This restores cheek volume and establishes more youthful midface contours. The result will be a natural, revitalized appearance that doesn’t appear overdone or “pulled".

When performed skillfully, a cheek lift will deliver a natural but noticeable improvement. It is frequently performed with other surgeries, such as a lower face-lift, eyelid surgery, or a brow lift. However, for many younger patients, under 45 years old, midface rejuvenation is often a stand-alone procedure.

rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty (Surgery of the Nose)

The nose is the central, most prominent feature of the face and a major factor in defining balance and harmony among facial features.  When the nose is out of proportion with other facial features or the nose does not complement the face, it can affect self-image and confidence.  In most cases, the specific characteristics of the nose are a result of heredity. However, the appearance of the nose may sometimes be the result of injury or prior surgery.

If you are bothered by the size or shape of your nose, then cosmetic surgery of the nose or rhinoplasty may be right for you. In general, rhinoplasty improves the appearance and proportion of the nose, enhancing facial harmony and self-confidence. Surgery of the nose may also correct impaired breathing caused by structural defects in the nose.

ears

Ear surgery (Otoplasty)

Ear surgery, or Otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears.  Besides protruding ears, there are a variety of other ear problems that can be helped with surgery. These include: lop ear -when the tip seems to fold down and forward; cupped ear -which is usually a very small ear; and shell ear -when the curve in the outer rim, as well as the natural folds and creases, are missing.  Surgery can also improve large or stretched earlobes, or lobes with large creases and wrinkles.  Surgeons can even build new ears for those who were born without them or who lost them through injury.

Most patients, young and old alike, are thrilled with the results of ear surgery.  But keep in mind, the goal is improvement, not perfection. Do not expect both ears to match perfectly (perfect symmetry is both unlikely and unnatural in ears).  If you have discussed the procedure and your expectations with the surgeon before the operation, chances are, you will be quite pleased with the result.

cheek and chin

Facial Implants (Cheeks and Chin)

Plastic surgeons use facial implants to improve and enhance facial contours.  Frequently, these implants will help provide a more harmonious balance to your face and features so that you may feel better about the way you look. They may help strengthen the jaw line or bring the chin or cheekbones into balance with the rest of the face.

Facial implants can enhance your appearance and may bolster your self-esteem. If you are looking for improvement not perfection, in your appearance and are realistic in your expectations, you may find that a facial implant is the right choice for you.

Plastic surgeons will frequently use such implants to bring better balance to the features of a younger patient.  For instance, a teenage girl may want her nose reshaped or her chin brought forward so that these traits are better proportioned. The more mature patient may choose to have an implant placed in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure. For example, during a facelift, a patient may wish to have implants placed over the cheekbones to help restore a more youthful appearance.  Implants may also be selected to fill out a face that appears “sunken” or tired.

laser resurfacing

Laser Resurfacing

If you have ever wished that you could “renew” your complexion to make it smoother and more even-toned, laser resurfacing may be a good option for you.  Cosmetic laser resurfacing, also called ‘laser peel” is a procedure that smoothes the facial skin by using a laser to refinish damaged areas and shrink fine wrinkles. It also corrects areas of uneven pigmentation. The result is fresher, smoother complexion.

Men and women of all ages may benefit from laser resurfacing.  The best results from the procedure are typically seen in individuals with fair, healthy, non-oily skin.

You may be a good candidate for laser resurfacing if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Fine lines, especially around the eyes
  • Vertical lines around the mouth
  • Areas of uneven pigmentation, such a “age spots”
  • Lines on the cheeks caused by sun damage

breast augmentation

Breast Augmentation

If you often wish that your breasts were larger, fuller or more shapely breast augmentation surgery may be the right choice for you. Breast augmentation (also called augmentation mammaplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enlarge and shape the breasts. Your new look will bring you greater freedom with fashion and may give your self-image a boost as well.

Women who choose to have breast augmentation surgery do so to improve their self-image.  Some feel dissatisfied because their breasts never developed to a size that meets their expectations.  Others want to bring balance to a breast that is somewhat smaller than the other.  Often, women want the procedure to restore their natural breast volume, which may have decreased as a result of pregnancy, weight loss or aging.  Any one of the following feelings or conditions may indicate that you are a good candidate for breast augmentation:
  • You are bothered by the feeling that your breasts are too small
  • Weight loss has changed the size and shape of your breasts
  • After having children, your breasts have become smaller and have lost their firmness
  • Dresses that fit well around your hips are often too large at the bustline
  • One of your breasts is noticeably smaller than the other
  • You feel self-conscious wearing a swimsuit or form-fitting top

breast lift

Breast Lift

A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes, including loss of skin elasticity can result from pregnancy, breast-feeding, weight fluctuations, aging, and gravity.  Heredity may also be a factor, and a woman in her teens may experience loose, sagging breast tissue.  Breasts that have lost their firm, uplifted contours can affect a woman’s self-image and confidence.

If you desire to restore the firmness and shape of your breasts, then a breast lift may be right for you. In general, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.  Sometimes the areola (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) has become enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift rejuvenates the female figure with a breast profile that is more youthful, uplifted, and firm.   Breast lift, technically called mastopexy, is surgery to uplift and improve the shape of a female breast that:

  • Sags or is pendulous, but is proportionate with the body frame
  • Has lost firmness and skin elasticity
  • Has a flatter, elongated shape
  • When unsupported, the nipple falls below the breast crease
  • Has a nipple and areola (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) that point downward
  • Has stretched skin and an enlarged areola

A breast lift is appropriate for women who wish to improve breast shape and position. When an increase in breast volume is also desired, breast implants may be inserted in conjunction with a breast lift.
Breast lift is a highly individualized procedure achieved through a variety of incision patterns and techniques.  The appropriate technique for your case will be determined based on:
Breast size and shape

  • The size and position of the areola
  • The degree of breast sagging
  • Skin quality and skin elasticity as well as the amount of extra skin

breast reduction

Breast Reduction

If you are a woman with large breast, breast reduction surgery can be a tremendously life-enhancing option.  Having the procedure will give you far more than just smaller, firmer breasts.  You will also get significant relief from many physical and emotional discomforts, a new sense of freedom in your exercise and physical activity, and the ability to wear a greater variety of clothing styles.  In fact, of all the procedures that plastic surgeons perform, breast reduction ranks among the highest in patient satisfaction.

Breast reduction, also called reduction mammaplasty, is a procedure that removes excess breast tissue and skin, making your breasts more proportional to the rest of your body.  The areola (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) may be reduced and repositioned as well.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia (Male Breast) Reduction

Gynecomastia is a medical term that comes from the Greek words for ‘woman-like breasts.’ Though this oddly named condition is rarely talked about, it’s actually quite common. Gynecomastia affects an estimated 40 to 60 percent of men. It may affect only one breast or both. Though certain drugs and medical problems have been linked with male breast overdevelopment, there is no known cause in the vast majority of cases.

For men who feel self-conscious about their appearance, breast-reduction surgery can help. The procedure removes fat and or glandular tissue from the breasts, and in extreme cases removes excess skin, resulting in a chest that is flatter, firmer, and better contoured.

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

A flat and well-toned abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control.  However, regardless of effort, sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. Even individuals of otherwise normal body weight and proportion can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging. The most common causes of this include heredity, multiple pregnancies, prior surgery, significant fluctuations in weight or congenital spine abnormalities that affect posture.

If you desire a tighter, flatter abdomen, then a tummy tuck may be appropriate to help achieve your goals.  In general, a tummy tuck removes excess fat and skin, and in some cases restores weakened or separated muscles.  This creates an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer, often enhancing your body image and confidence.

liposuction

Liposuction

A fit and well-proportioned body is often considered a symbol of health and vitality.  But despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some individuals still have a body with disproportionate contours and localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to heredity or family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness.

If you are bothered by excess fat deposits, located anywhere on your face or body, that do not respond to diet or exercise, liposuction may be right for you. In general, liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing localized or regional excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately, enhancing your self-image.

Armlift

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm.  With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby.  Plastic surgeons will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look, as good as they feel.  In some cases, your plastic surgeon may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

thigh lift

Thigh Lift

Thigh lift surgery is performed to tighten loose skin and remove the extra fatty deposits, usually in the upper inner thigh.  It may require an incision and subsequent scar in the groin crease, or down the inner thigh, or a combination of the two.  The most common patients that are seen for this are those who have lost large amounts of weight.
